CAATS - Cooperative Approach to Air Traffic Services
CAATS was a concerted action funded to foster the coordination of processes and methodologies across the Air Traffic Management (ATM) projects of the European 6th Framework Programme, in relation to Safety, Human Factors and Validation domains. Best practice from these areas were identified and brought to the projects' attention to foster a coordinated and coherent approach to the problems of Safety, Human Factors and Validation by all these projects.
The most significant output of CAATS was the achievement of a coordinated, cooperative European approach to ATM research and technical support in the domains of Safety, Human Factors and Validation. Best practice manuals were produced for use not only by EC projects but other interested stakeholders.
Deep Blue contributed as domain expert in the Safety and Human Factor domains.
